Fallen leaves in pond

I have a pond that I'm thinking about covering for Autumn and winter to stop fallen leaves landing in the pond. I have quite a few frogs and toads so I'm now not sure if its a good idea to cover it or not.

Hi Andy Covering your pond with a net during leaf fall shouldn't be any problem for wildlife. Use a proper pond net and put it in place as the first leaves start to fall and remove after leaf fall. It's a good idea to check it regularly just to make sure no creatures have got caught up in it. Best wishes Andy

Installing a skimmer would save you allot of headache.
