Gardening Courses East Sussex & Horticulture Training Brighton

MyGardenSchool provides courses in horticuture and gardening aimed at people who are complete beginners in gardening, to children! Or adults who are enthusiastic amateur gardeners, to garden design professionals.   We have a full range of courses - which are all online - so you can study gardening wherever you are in East Sussex. If you are interested in beginning a career in horticulture and want to explore other horticultural land based colleges in East Sussex we would recommend the following: You should definitely check out The Garden House Brighton .  Founder Bridgette Saunders states:  "I have had an interest in horticulture and nature since I was a child, being greatly inspired then by my father, and later by the work and writings of several other gardeners including Geoff Hamilton, Beth Chatto and Carol Klein. I am currently teaching horticulture in Brighton, and over past years have been involved in creating medal winning gardens with my colleagues and students at both the Chelsea Flower Show and Hampton Court. I also organise the annual Garden Gadabout – an open garden scheme in aid of the Sussex Beacon care centre. The scheme includes over one hundred private gardens around Brighton, Hove, and wider area, and provides a fantastic opportunity to look at ‘real’ gardens, discuss them with the owners – and of course, to support a local charity. In October 09 I published a book on allotment gardening (Allotment Gardening by Bridgette Saunders)" West Dean Gardens are also lovely East Sussex Gardens to visit as part of West Dean College.   We couldn't find many horticuture or gardening courses actually at the college, but know that the gardens are well worth a visit here:  West Dean, Nr Chichester, West Sussex, PO18 0QZ. Another place in East Sussex to study horticulture or gardening is Plumpton College. Plumpton specialises in providing a wide range of land-based courses in partnership with schools, for those in further education and for those in higher education. The College degree courses are provided in association with the University of Brighton. The College’s main site is at Plumpton with out-centres at Netherfield (near Battle), Robertsbridge, Flimwell and Stanmer Park, Brighton. The range of courses cover all land-based provision including Agriculture, Horticulture, Floristry, Greenkeeping, Hard Landscaping, Equine, Agricultural and Horticultural Machinery, Metalsmithing, Animal Care and Veterinary Nursing, Countryside Management, Forestry and Arboriculture, Sports (Outdoor Education), Wine and Viticulture, and Rural Business Management.
