Other Gardening Courses or Gardens we like to visit in Somerset

Charles Dowding is someone we like very much.  He's an inspirational gardener, (who also has published books) who practises what he preaches. Charles has grown vegetables organically and commercially for more than 25 years, cropping an acre-and-a-half and selling 200 salad bags a week.  He runs day courses from Lower Farm near Wincanton in Somerset, costing £75 which includes a lunch of Lower Farm salad, cheese, home-milled bread and his own cider or apple juice. Many professionals and amateurs attend, from gardeners from Buckingham Palace and Clarence House to first-time growers. RHS Gardening Courses in Somerset The RHS have launched New part-time horticulture courses at East Lambrook Manor Gardens in Somerset. The courses were set up following the closure of Yeovil College’s horticulture courses due to the withdrawal of government funding. Somerset-based horticulturist and former Yeovil College lecturer John Horsey has relaunched the one-day-per-week courses, which will lead to the East Lambrook Diploma in Horticulture.
