Planting Your Shady Garden

Planting Your Shady Garden

Some of the most beautiful gardens in the world are shady gardens. The problem of what to plant is simply one of knowing the right plants, and adjusting any preconceived ideas of ‘must have’ plants that represent a pretty garden to you.

Shady gardens can in fact be most of the things that a full sunny garden could be, they can be colourful, bold, sculptural, delicate, sophisticated, contemporary, traditional almost anything in fact.

I thought rather than giving you a list of plants that are good in shade. I’d start with illustrating some stunning photos of shaded gardens I’ve been to – and then you can see how the gardens have been designed and planted, and emulate some of that style for yourself.
