Consumer online gardening school MyGardenSchool has taken further steps forward to secure their position as the global default destination for online horticultural learning as they today announce the launch of their newly designed and re developed device responsive website and virtual classrooms: www.my-garden-school.com.

Launched in time for the start of the new school term, www.my-garden-school.com has been developed to provide an engaging and informative experience for students by integrating a more intuitive user interface, faster navigation and improved search function across desktop, tablet and smartphone. MyGardenSchool has reduced the complexity, improved usability and provided flexibility for future growth of the website.

The beautifully designed homepage is clean and uncluttered and uses stunning images throughout to compliment the high calibre of certified online horticultural courses available to students worldwide.  Students will find the virtual classroom is easier to navigate and will also be able to upload their assignments and liaise with their tutors effortlessly. The MyGardenSchool Blog has even had a facelift, as it fast becomes the resource gardener’s use for the latest in horticultural trends, seasonal gardening tips and expert advice.

MyGardenSchool’s open-source CMS is WordPress and is designed with a simplified layout and intuitive navigation. The search function has also been significantly improved, through redesigning the information architecture and tagging information throughout the site.

Elspeth Briscoe, Director of MyGardenSchool, says: “MyGardenSchool’s re design has been driven by our student’s need for a better, more responsive website and we really feel we have delivered on this. With our new design, we expect an increase in website visitors, course uptakes and landing page conversions. We look forward to feedback from our users and welcoming new students to our digital learning community.”

MyGardenSchool students can learn anything from garden design to flower photography, growing vegetables to bee keeping via video tutorials and personal feedback from experts such as John Brookes (MBE), Paula Pryke (OBE), Dr Noel Kingsbury, Michael Marriott and many other household names.

MyGardenSchool was founded by Elspeth Briscoe (eBay, Skype), and Duncan Heather (Oxford College of Garden Design) and went live in 2011. Four to eight week online courses start at £145.00 / approximately $232.00. MyGardenSchool is partnered with the Royal Horticultural Society, BALI, APLD and Mumsnet.

In February 2015 MyOnlineSchool, MyGardenSchool’s parent company, announced new seed funding of £450,000 / $678,000 from a powerful team of investors, including Leaf Investments, Howzat Partners, Stephen Warshaw and several Angel investors. MyOnlineSchool concentrated this funding into accelerating the production of their high-end online vocational and hobbyist courses, advancing the design of their responsive virtual classrooms and websites, and increasing their portfolio of schools.
