Available from November, as an obvious 2014 gardeners Christmas gift, The Gardener's Garden is being pitched as the ultimate garden book, designed to inspire and educate green fingered enthusiasts. Curated by an international panel of horticultural and gardening experts, it draws together for the first time a collection of over 250 of the world’s finest gardens by leading garden designers, horticulturalists and landscape architects, from the 14th century to the present day, and showcases all key types and styles of garden.

The gardens featured in The Gardener’s Garden have been selected by a panel of six experts that range from landscape design experts, garden designers and garden historians. These include Ravindra Bhan (India), Madison Cox (USA), Toby Musgrave (UK/Denmark), Bill Noble (USA), Dan Pearson (UK) and Made Wijaya (Bali). In order to fully understand each garden’s theme and central conceit, they are presented with key information on their location, designer, date, type, style, size and climate; beautiful photographs illustrating both overviews and planting details, taken across different seasons are accompanied by an informative essay that explains both design and planting features of each project.

From sculptural gardens, such as Inhotim designed by Luiz Carlos Orsini in Brazil, through the modernist gardens of Thomas Church, such as the Pool Garden at El Novillero in California, to the famous Renaissance gardens at Villa d’Este and urban spaces like the High Line linear park/walkway in Manhattan, New York City. The Gardener’s Garden mixes contemporary and historical gardens by celebrated gardeners and designers through the ages from Capability Brown, John Brookes, Sir Charles Jencks, Thomas Jefferson to Dan Pearson, Beth Chatto, Topher Delaney, Madison Cox, Piet Oudolf and Derek Jarman.

Lavishly illustrated with over 1200 photographs, The Gardener’s Garden is arranged geographically by continent, featuring gardens from Australia, UK and North America, but also from more unexpected countries like Iran, Finland, Poland and Barbados. The book represents a vast array of garden types (courtyard, rooftop, parks, orchards, landscape gardens, kitchen gardens, Islamic, water gardens) and garden styles (cottage, English, formal, alpine, tropical, Renaissance, Mediterranean and New Perennial).
