If you are interested in becoming a volunteer gardener, Rutgers is a fascinating organisation.  New Jersey Master Gardeners are trained volunteers who assist Rutgers New Jersey Agricultural Experiment Station (NJAES) Cooperative Extension in its mission to deliver horticulture programs and information to the general public. Anyone with an interest in gardening and a commitment to volunteer service can become a Master Gardener. No previous education or training in horticulture is required.

My Local Garden

We also like New Jersey Gardening website called My Local Garden.  My Local Garden is a New Jersey-based business with a mission to connect people to nature and grow good food.  They regenerate landscapes and inspire people of all ages to implement simple sustainable solutions that can change their lives and the world.  They are a group of over 100 organic farmers, gardeners, interns, apprentices, and students, who are growing food using sustainable organic practices and helping and inspiring others to do the same.  Grow Your Own Food Courses are close to our hearts at MyGardenSchool and we have a lot of respect for what's being achieved in sustainable food growing solutions here.
