How often should you clear a pond?

The two most likely time points for cleaning are in the fall, to reduce the amount of accumulated muck on the bottom of the pond as you head into winter, or in the spring to remove material accumulated over the winter from leaves blowing into the pond

Well it all depends on the size of the pond and the design of the pond and of course if you have a filtration system or not on the pond

The Best time to clean a pond. If you want to do a full drain and clean you must do it before the garden pond wakes from it's winter dormancy. It should not be that you're are panicking in the spring and you think I should have cleaned up the pond before now.
