How can I get my Cornus to flower?

I planted a small pot-grow C. Florida floribunda, in full flower, about 8-10 years ago.  It is now > 6ft in height and very healthy but it has never bloomed since.    It's in good garden loam and I add a little compost from my heap every year but otherwise no feeding.  Any tips?

Hi Anne. I read somewhere that they dislike too much shade or intense sun as this can prevent flowering. Maybe consider a relocation? I hope this helps. Best wishes Gayle

Hi Anne - Gayle's advice is sound, but I also expect it is starved. I would definitely feed with a good slow-release balanced fertiliser containing trace elements. If you can't get something like Vitax Q4 then use a rose fertiliser. It is clearly getting lots of nitrogen but no potash for flowers.

Thanks Gayle and Andy. It's not in too much shade and we live in E Cheshire so intense sun is definitely NOT a problem! I'll surely try the Vitax Q4 - thanks Andy. What time of year is it best to feed?
