WHATS EATING MY HERBS

Hi,I am trying to cultivate a herb garden and so far have succesfully planted thyme,oregano and rosemary but when I try planting parsley,basil the next day GONE!!! whats eating them and how do I stop it happening?

Most probably snails or could be slugs also. You could try going out in the evening to see if you can find any culprits or use the dreaded slug pellets but hide them under a tile or slate so that birds can't access leaving enough room for the molluscs to get in. Beer traps is another method

Thank you Michael,yes I am pretty certain it is slugs weve had loads this year but why is it they dont go for the hard wood herbs only things like parsley and basil?

Because they are so soft and succulent and especially if they have been grown indoors. Some plants are more attractive to slugs and snails than others and I've noticed they are particularly fond of these two
