This year’s Black Friday is predicted to be one of the biggest ever; with large chunks of the country unable to get out for retail therapy, online shopping is exploding.
Black Friday officially starts on November 27th, but there are already some great discounts available for photographers. We will be running more blogs on this subject next week as Black Friday gets closer, but it’s a fantastic time to be investing in a new camera - either as a main device, or as a back-up.
Adobe softwareAdobe has reduced the price of a monthly subscription to its Creative Cloud All Apps from £39.95 to £49.94. The discount started on 16th November and runs until Black Friday. The All Apps package includes Photoshop and Lightroom for image editing, as as well as Illustrator, InDesign, Premiere Pro and the Portfolio website building tool.

A wide range of retailers are offering a huge saving on this high resolution camera, which contains a 51.4Mp sensor, a robust but lightweight body and a quality electronic viewfinder, and a high quality, 117-point AF system. Hardly an impulse buy, but you won’t be disappointed with the image quality. Just remember to budget for a GFX lens too.

This well-made, well-designed contender features a 20.9Mp sensor, 11fps continuous shooting, tilting touchscreen and the ability to record 4k video at 30p.
Alt textOlympus OM-D E-M1 Mark II: now £1,199 (saving £200)Although this is a 2016 era camera, using the Micro Four Thirds sensor rather than APS-C or full frame, it still has a lot going for it – as well as looking great. Key features include a 20Mp sensor, which delivers surprisingly rich and detailed shots, along with super 5-axis in-body stabilisation which enables you to still get sharp shots when shooting handheld at relatively slow shutter speeds (eg 1/15 of a second). The Olympus is no slouch either, offering up to 60fps continuous shooting, along with a fully articulated touchscreen and decent electronic viewfinder. There is a great range of quality Micro Four Thirds lenses too, at a decent price.
