Keerti and Niravta Mathur explain the benefits of breathwork and what breathwork is. You'll learn how to do the Ocean breath, and practice the Ocean breath at home, and how to follow on with a 3-stage pranayama - a series of breathing exercises for the diaphragm and lungs as your body moves through 3 different postures. You'll find out how 3-stage pranayama and ocean breath can calm your mind.
Keerti and Niravta will demonstrate and practice Bhastrika pranayama, or bellows breath, with you. You'll learn the movements to do at each stage of the breath, and find out how bellows breath can increase your energy levels.
In this lesson you'll learn how to use breathwork to help with your focus. Keerti and Niravta will demonstrate alternate nostril breathing, and you'll be practicing alternate nostril breathing with them.
Keerti and Niravta will explain the benefits of Straw breath and Bee Breath (Bhramari pranayama). You'll learn how straw breath and bee breath can be combined to reduce anxiety, and how to practice your bee and straw breath in combination.
COURSE TUTOR

Niravta & Keerti Mathur

Niravta & Keerti Mathur are breathing teachers and practitioners who have been teaching breathwork for over 20 years through the Art of Living Foundation.

Mindful practices such as breathwork and meditation are proven to be some of the best defences against stress, as well as being a key tool that people at the top of their industries use to improve performance. Few organisations have amplified this more than the Art of Living, a global organisation founded by humanitarian and meditation expert Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar in 1982.

Sri Sri is regarded as an authority on meditation and breathwork and is firmly rooted in the deep and rich traditions of yoga and its ancient Vedic scriptures. He has made this wisdom accessible and usable in more than 150 countries, benefiting millions through his teachings and peace work.

Keerti is an Osteopath who also teaches anatomy to yoga instructors and Osteopathic techniques to postgraduate students. A keen holistic practitioner, Keerti has a deep understanding of how our mind, body and emotions are connected.

Niravta is the co-director of Art of Living UK and also runs a digital tech business which, amongst many products and services, promotes self-care and meditation practices. Niravta integrates contemporary teaching with a spotlight on tradition.

Our online classroom is designed to help you learn from experts in a collaborative, social environment alongside a small group of learners.

Each lesson combines expert-led videos with optional assignments, giving you the opportunity to apply what you’ve learned and share your work with others. You can take part in ongoing discussions, ask questions, exchange feedback, and learn from a community of like-minded people from around the world.

By learning together in a small, supportive group, you benefit not only from expert guidance but also from shared ideas, perspectives, and experiences—helping you stay engaged and retain what you learn.

You can start your course at any time within 12 months of purchase. Once you begin, you’ll have lifetime access, so you can revisit lesson videos and notes whenever you like.

Courses are designed to fit around your schedule, allowing you to learn at your own pace. Each lesson video is typically 30–40 minutes, and we recommend around an hour for each assignment.

Both Peer and Expert options give you full access to the course content, including lesson videos, downloadable notes, assignments, and a collaborative online classroom with up to 20 learners. You’ll also have lifetime access to revisit the material at any time.

The Expert option includes everything in Peer, plus personalised assignment feedback, direct messaging with your expert tutor, and a certificate of completion.

With the Expert option, you can interact directly with your tutor throughout the course. You’ll typically have one week per lesson to ask questions and receive feedback on your assignments, with as much interaction as you need during that time.

Your tutor access begins when you enter the classroom and follows the course schedule (for example, a four-lesson course usually runs over four weeks). If you need more time or support, our team is here to help.
