Meet the Britain's Best Chefs Cooking Experts

Benoit Blin:

Benoit Blin is a renowned name in patisserie and has a career studded with accolades. His love for sweets began in childhood, growing up near bakeries in Normandy. This passion led to many apprenticeships, which allowed him to hone his skills and eventually a position at the Hotel Ritz in Paris.

In 1995, he moved to England to join Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons, where he continues to create exquisite desserts. Chef Blin recently expanded his culinary presence to London's The Cadogan Lounge, adding another dimension to his already illustrious career.

Ollie Dabbous:

For well over a decade, Ollie Dabbous has been a recognised and highly respected name in the culinary world. Never afraid to take on a challenge, Ollie is now at the helm of Hide, a mould-breaking multi-floored venture that took London by storm. He has perfected the art of delivering minimalist presentations on a plate that really packs a punch.

Starting as a commis at Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons, Ollie received an excellent grounding in becoming a chef. Loving Raymond Blanc's and Gary Jones's organic approach, he quickly learned how to get the best flavours out of organic ingredients. The skills he honed over the years helped catapult him into the limelight, eventually opening the doors to his groundbreaking project – Hide, in 2018, which spans three floors, two kitchens and a bakery.

Kerth Gumbs:

Kerth Gumbs brings a lot of creative playfulness to the table. His approach to fine dining has created a dedicated following, making him one of London's most exciting chefs and a valuable addition to Britain's Best Chefs Cooking programme.

Kerth is well known for taking the best seasonal British ingredients and adding a twist with a few international flavours and techniques. The results are often surprisingly fun, with a sprinkling of his personal flair. After graduating from Le Cordon Bleu in 2004, Kerth worked at the famous Quaglino’s brasserie before moving to work with top Michelin-starred chefs such as Tom Aikens, Joel Robuchon’s L’Atelier, then Texture with Agnar Sverrisson, and then heading up the kitchen at Ormer Mayfair.

Peter Gray:

Training under Michelin-starred chefs Paul Kitching and Adam Simmonds, Gray honed his skills in creativity, consistency, and respect for quality ingredients. Since joining The Hind's Head in 2014, Gray has risen to Head Chef, infusing the kitchen with his unique perspective and meticulous approach.

As Head Chef, Gray leads research and development, constantly innovating while upholding Heston Blumenthal's philosophy of questioning everything. His leadership and culinary expertise continue to elevate The Hind's Head's dining experience.
